A ongoing Peace of twentyeleven

I've been thinking on how God has truly had his hand upon our family. Life has been life, and will continue to be life. It's amazing how much God has carried us through and will continue to, as long as we allow him to. I've yet to understand some things yet will continue to trust in God. He is our hope! Our redeemer! Our Life! Twentyeleven was a year of change. To briefly share a little something, God allowed us to meet up with a amazing family! It amazes me to see how God works. The relationship we built is one that will last a lifetime. We know the relationship that was built was one that was built on LOVE with LOVE! So thankful for the time we spent with the Settles family. Along with us their we're others that connected to them. No doubt friendship's were built and their transition from Tennessee to California was made a tad bit easier. In the short time of their move here, so much went on! One was their 12 year old daughter received the holy ghost! As families we were growing together, learning from one another. It's amazes how much you can learn by just listening. I am a firm believer on Gods ways not being our ways and believe everything has a purpose and life has its season's. Under circumstances that were out of their control they had to move back home this past December. I'm grateful to know they are keeping the faith and still believing that God has a plan! We are no longer able to spend the late night bible study's in their home, get the hugs, and just enjoy life with them being they had to move back home. In talking with my friend today, it brings tears to my eyes knowing she is striving to do what she can for her family. She also knows that its God in the midst of it all! If your willing please keep our friends, the Settle's prayer. We know and believe that God has a plan for them! With love, Rachel

Infinity scarves are pretty addicting!

A homeschool lesson of learning the serger, and working on infinity scarfs has brought me to a addiction! Its been a fun project with my girls! We've learned together! Proud to say they caught on before I did!!! I've made a few out of request, and have been invited to a local boutique. I'm really excited, hoping to make some people smile with my work. I have opened a Etsy shop, nothing is posted yet. Soon? Maybe. As for now I'm working on orders made, and getting them out in a timely manner. We just made a trip up to a awesome fabric store in bay area! Ready to get out some creative infinities! This is gonna be fun! I'll post pictures as soon as I can! Special request are available, $15/scarf! Also February 4, 2012 I will be at a local boutique with few other venders come out and say hello! Love, Rachel

Reversible Tote

I did it! I accomplished a reversible tote!!! I'm so amazed with myself and so inspired to do more! The reversible tote is a one and only type of purse. It's originality no one else will have! I've fallen in love with mine! It's compartments are everywhere! Nothing's out of place! I will be making others. The durability is amazing, so yes it can be used as a diaper bag, lap top bag, book bag, purse, anything you'd like it to be! I also can personalize them by embroidery. I'm going to be making and selling these along with other items to invest in my sewing hobby. I'm really excited to get these made, and customize each one. Please feel free to share, I don't mind one bit! ;) Thank you for reading, and much Thanks ahead for sharing with others!!! Love, rrg

Determination in 2012!

Helllllllooooooo! It's so good to find some time to get to typing out something to post on Spindle31 blog! I just want to say Happy 2012!! 2011, is gone but never forgotten! Lots of memories made, my life has been forever impacted by experiences both good & bad. Through it all I feel that it was all a God thing. One thing I do regret is the lack of sewing. I have come to realize whatever I do or have a passion for I will do it all as I am doing it unto God! Whether it be laundry, dishes, teaching, changing diapers, cleaning noses, sewing, bill paying, giving, studying, taxes, etc...I will do it all into the Lord! This is not the easiest thing to do as a person at one point or another, that's why I'm soooo thankful, grateful, appreciative to God for new days! For when I fall I shall arise! Lol! Yup, I've got some pretty scrapped up knees and elbows. I'm just oooOO so thankful for new beginnings! It's a God thing and I love it! He has been working on this lady, and I truly appreciate it and will take it to heart. There is nothing like being able to serve in his kingdom!
Now that I've opened up a little I do want to say again, I will do all things as if I'm doing it unto the Lord! I truly want to sew like I've never sewn before! This shouldn't be very hard being I never make time for my very own hobby. The hobby that I never knew I had. My husband pointed it out to me, that sewing is my hobby. It's something I do out of love! I took that to heart when he said that. It honestly motivated me to do more. My children have also been another reason for me to get this hobby going! They have a love for learning to sew. If anything at all in 2012 I will teach them what i know. All in all I wanted to put some thoughts on my blog to get inspired once again, and possibly inspire someone else out there.
